THE DREADED 5 OF PENTACLES
And so we have the 5 of Pentacles. I very seldom draw this card in a reading, which is rather surprising because I receive messages from so many unhappy people. No money problems? I'm at a loss as to why.
Let me give you a bit of background. I have attached a photo of the card so that you might follow along.
The 5 of Pentacles depicts two weary, ravaged persons trudging through a snowstorm. The younger figure, a boy, is cripped and is wearing a bell around his neck. In medieval times, bells were worn by lepers to warn others not to approach. It's obvious, then, that he has been exorcized from society. The other figure is an older woman in ragged clothing, barefoot in the snow. It is important to note that the cloak she wears, though rather tattered, is red in color, a sign that she will persist through her dreary situation, although there presently appears no hope for her. They are both so focused on their dire predicament that they fail to notice the stained glass window behind them with a beautiful light shining through emphasizing the design of a money tree. It's most likely a church they are walking past. Why do they not enter? There is, again, a sense of exclusion, this time by the spiritual community.
This card is asking that in our rather pronounced victimhood, we must look to our truths to overcome a humbling blow and take back our self-esteem and sense of self-worth. You may be waiting for someone to help you, but swallow your pride and reach out. There is support for you.
The 5 of Pentacles also is about the mindset of a "lack of." In other words, you may be sabotaging your creation of abundance because you're focusing on what you lack. You will need to shift this energy and direct it upon what you do have no matter how small and insignificant in your eyes, expressing appreciation for what you do have in life. You will notice how positive aspects suddenly appear.
If we change our perspective of things ever so slightly, not as a "lack of" but, instead, to "not enough of," you will see similar results. Staying focused on the negative is a no-no and may bring you things you don't want.
No matter the positioning of this card, it suggests a time of hardship and insecurity.
This card is symbolism for old debts, unpaid loans, high credit card balances. It's a reminder that you need to evaluate your finances.
Relating to love, this is a poor sign, indicating that the person you care for may not be feeling the same way about you, and parallel to the figures on the card, you will feel like you've been left out in the cold.
